Establishing a unique practice through a series of remote productions and stand-alone projects, Alfred Hunt has been studying music and the arts since 2016. He is currently working toward a BA in Music and Sound Production.
As a Musician and Producer, his work is largely based around composition and sound design informed by contextual and conceptual thinking. Minimalism and aleatoric techniques combine with knowledge about the history and aesthetics of music technology in a modern production environment.
Concerned with where technology intersects with lived experience, the nature of observation and agency in digital and augmented spaces, as well as the connections between emotional and physical space, Alfred’s work as a fine artist and graphic designer is based around the collecting and processing raw materials.

Visual Ep - Exploring Urban "Edgelands"
Filmed over a couple of overcast weeks in March and April 2023, No Horizon is a visual EP focused on liminal experiences and the spaces we often overlook. Between rural and urban, designed and wild.
Produced through the winter of 2022, the music seeks out uncertainty in genre definitions, song structure, tonal center and sound design. This EP used a hybrid production process making use of DAW arranging, studio production and field recording, combined through the use of sampling and granular synthesis.

These works were released through Soundcloud under the name Alfred Hunt. They are often concept lead and link to larger projects in visual and audio-visual arts practice.
Until:
An ambient piano EP recorded during the first weeks of the pandemic in April 2020. The sounds were looped and manipulated through a range of guitar pedals. This gave the piano sound a lofi quality as chunks of the signal were lost.
Collected Non Music:
This is a collection of Audio works with a less traditionally musical slant. These mostly functioned as atmospheres that accompanied visual works.

Applying the "Post" genre suffix:
Inspired by the actor Nicholas Cage’s double performance as twins in the film Adaptation, The Snake Circle (Snake0, SNAKE_CIRCLE) name was adopted to give a clear denomination between the increasingly ambient and concept led material and freely experimental productions with a more populist, danceable, feeling.
These compositions were created across the first few months of 2022, taking influence from the increasing complexity of DAW based beat production. Seeking to borrow the sound collage aesthetic of the modern DJ set. Influenced by the use of the "post" genre suffix, this project seeks to explore many of the same ideas in Electronic Dance genres.

With many tracks from the project already having been released onto Soundcloud to positive reception, the tracks are currently in the process of being mastered for wide release across all streaming platforms.
